Behind the Scenes Update

Behind the Scenes Update . . .

Hey friends! This one will be short, but I haven’t posted in a long time and I feel I owe an update.

There have been a lot of exciting milestones in my life that are going to snowball into bigger events and more excitement.

Engagement

My last post, Why did I Start a Blog?, on February 8th, was only a few days before my wonderful partner surprised me by decorating my apartment with my best friend while I was at my evening class, and then proposing. (This is my most exciting update in my opinion). For about a month, he and I had talked about it happening while we were on our spring break trip with his family. I was mentally prepared for that so you can imagine my reaction to it happening a full month early.

Of course I was surprised, but he will attest that I started to catch on about 5 minutes before I left for class.

I felt it was quite cheesy to propose on Valentine’s Day, but it made for an extra romantic proposal. One of the best parts was that my family came to visit the following weekend so we got to celebrate with them almost immediately.

Spring Break

Now, that spring break trip. I had a chat with my advisor at the beginning of this past semester about missing a possible exam to go on this trip. I wanted her opinion on whether or not I should cancel my trip. (You can find that video on my TikTok page or by clicking on this link) Hooray! I joined Will and his family for a trip to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico the week after Spring Break. We even got to celebrate our engagement with Will's family and their friends while down there. Of course, being my first time in Mexico, I enjoyed all the fun touristy things Cabo had to offer.

Cabo is a very popular college Spring Break destination but I am sure I had a very different experience than most college students as I was traveling with family and not a bunch of other college aged friends.

Graduation

Along with these 2 crazy events, I was working on completing my senior year of college with my graduation this past month. Now that I have graduated and finished my degree, I am starting work in a full-time Computer Engineering position soon!

Following Graduation, Will and I moved into our new apartment with all of our stuff! I was very thankful that we had help from both our dads to move everything from our previous apartments/homes. They even helped us to bring it all up to the top floor before leaving us to unpack. Moving would have been a lot more stressful if we only had our two cars to do it all. I think there would have been a lot more driving back and forth.

Update Recap

So, after getting engaged, a big trip to Mexico, graduating from college, and moving into a new apartment and new city, it is safe to say that there has been a lot of excitement within the last few months. And here’s to more excitement and more updates! There are a lot of trips coming up that I will share with you all. I am thrilled to be celebrating other couples tying the knot and other fun events with family and friends.

I hope you all have a wonderful start to your summer!
